50 Days of JavaScript

My coding journey

I embarked on the #100DaysOfCode challenge, diving into daily coding for 50 days. While I didn't quite reach the full 100, this journey was packed with valuable learning.

I mastered the basics of JavaScript, built a few small projects, and re-learned the importance of consistent learning and adapting to challenges.

The background

After I taught myself HTML and CSS years ago, that knowledge has enabled me to work smoothly with developers and even to write some codes myself while working on various design projects.

I decided to learn JavaScript on my own because I only knew so little about it. And it wasn't just about coding faster with developers (though that's a sweet perk!). I wanted to understand the language, to anticipate their needs, and ultimately, to create a cool project solo in the future!

The exploration

I tweeted everyday on this challenge, check my journal back then here.

And at the end, I completed a few small projects in the course and this is one of them that you can try!

The pivot

Halfway through my coding challenge, I started learning Flutter and soon realized the potential synergy with my newfound JavaScript skills. I then decided to pause the challenge because I thought I was able to gain some knowledge and more confidence with this challenge already, and I wanted to focus more on other projects I had at the time.

Wrapup

It wasn't always easy to dedicate time each day, but completing half of this challenge and acquiring a new skill brings me immense joy. Can't wait to flex my upgraded skills in upcoming projects or maybe even to bring my own personal project's design concepts to life myself in the near future!
